Located between the western end of Lake Erie and the northern border of Ohio, the city of Toledo is situated along the banks of the Maumee River. The river bank provides optimal conditions for both growing a variety of plants and housing a range of wildlife species. Visitors can take advantage of Toledos diverse environment at the Swan Creek Preserve, the Toledo Botanical Garden and the Wildwood Preserve Metropark. Additional outdoor recreational activities are available at the Ottawa Park Golf Course, the Tamaron Country Club and the Toledo Zoo. The areas past can be experienced by visitors at the historically-restored Oak Grove School and the Manor House. Toledos local sports teams, the Mud Hens Baseball Club and the Toledo Storm Hockey Club play all season home games at the Fifth Third Field and the Toledo Sports Arena respectively.
